Bio
I am passionate about helping clients create the most clear and concise copy possible, with the utmost focus on preserving the author's unique voice. I'm not the writer, you are. My goals are: 1) to make you happy with what you've created and 2) to make sure that your intended audience pays attention to your brilliant prose instead of being distracted by unnecessary errors in grammar, spelling, or syntax. For over nine years, as the Senior Manager of Talent Development for a television studio, I had the privilege of working closely with writers to help them develop their voices, and produce quality professional work as they built their careers. While I enjoyed working in the entertainment industry, my passion has always been with literature and publishing. That passion led me to obtain a Certificate in Copyediting via the University of California, San Diego's (UCSD) well-regarded program, and begin a freelance career. Now, almost three years later, I currently have my dream job of working for Penguin Random House as a production associate in their audio division. *Note: Any freelance work obtained via this organization is not related in any way to Penguin Random House or its affiliates. I was a freelance COPYEDITOR for the Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB) where I edited over 50+ book reviews, interviews, and essays. For LARB, I do a substantial amount of fact-checking, so I am very comfortable with and proficient in researching various content. I also minored in English at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and completed an intense course in grammar for my certificate. Hence, I have an excellent command of the English language, along with a detailed eye for errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax. I also do book coverage for the television development department of an entertainment brand, so I can also provide an in-depth summary and critical analysis of your novel. At my prior job, I spent over six years reading television scripts: providing feedback on story structure, character development, and formatting; so if you have a script you'd like feedback on, I've got you covered.
